Four police officers axed over
Three police officers have been dismissed and another forced to resign after being accused of assault and criminal damage.
The officers, all from Thames Valley police force, appeared at a tribunal which was concluded yesterday, a force statement read.
All four were alleged to have breached the police discipline code in Reading on Thursday April 30th last year.
An internal police investigation was called under the supervision of the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) and it was decided that the officers had a case to answer.
"The breaches related to use of force and abuse of authority, honesty and integrity," a Thames Valley police spokesperson said.
The IPCC is an independent, government-funded body established in 2004 to oversee the police complaints procedure and ensure they are effectively dealt with.
