Vancouver, BC, Canada is about to become the birth place of a new international network of groups that police the police called INIOP, or the International Network of Independent Oversight of Policing as cited in the National Post, Canada dated 1st October 2006 (full article available in the Information Room).
With this announcement comes criticism within Canada of domestic oversight groups being "badly flawed" and lacking in "public confidence". What are your views and experience of "Police Oversight Groups" within your area? Do they have the confidence of the public? Would an International Group be beneficial for developing countries?
