Egypt police kill more bombing

Egyptian police hunting for bombers behind attacks in the Sinai peninsula have killed three more suspects, security sources in Sinai say.

Policemen were also wounded in gunbattles with the suspects in a mountainous area of northern Sinai, although the sources did not immediately know how many.

The police shot dead another three men they said belonged to a group of Sinai Bedouin who killed 18 people in bomb attacks on the Red Sea resort of Dahab last week.

The authorities identified one of those as the mastermind of the attacks. The police are searching for suspects in a mountainous area of northern Sinai.

The government has blamed the mysterious group of Sinai Bedouin, which had its origins in the Mediterranean town of El Arish, for four other bombings at resorts on the Sinai coast and in northern Sinai over the past two years.

Two men blew themselves up last week in separate attacks on a multinational peace force and a police station in northern Sinai.
