Milwaukee Chief Asks for 'Inte
Milwaukee's police chief is pitching a plan to allow police officers to set up sting operations on each other, and she said the so-called "integrity unit" is the final piece in the monitoring of officers.

In her tenure as chief, Nannette Hegerty has faced the challenge of rebuilding the credibility of her department in the eyes of the community. Caledonia police chief suspended for 2 weeks

Caledonia, Minn., officials would not say Monday why police Chief Kurt Zehnder
has been suspended for two weeks without pay.
“The city of Caledonia has been advised by its attorney to not discuss this matter,”
city clerk and administrator Jennifer Feely said in a statement.
But the move came after the city council met Oct. 5 to consider allegations of
misconduct against Zehnder.
His suspension began Oct. 23. Attempts to contact Zehnder were unsuccessful.
According to the Oct. 5 meeting minutes, the Personnel Committee will review
Zehnder’s progress monthly, and will institute an employee performance
improvement plan once he returns to work.
A Tribune request for the improvement plan had not been answered as of Monday
evening.
The city hired Zehnder as police chief on July 9, 2009. He also was accused of
misconduct in 2010 along with another officer, but an investigator in October 2010
said he found no misconduct.
Caledonia’s police sergeant automatically assumes the chief’s authority in his
absence.
