Nepal: CIAA files corruption case against police officers including former IGPs The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has on Tuesday filed corruption case against 36 people involved in the Sudan scam. The CIAA has registered a charge sheet accusing former and incumbent high ranking police officials and contractors involved in procurement of armored personnel carriers (APCs) and other logistics for Nepali peacekeepers in Darfur, Sudan. It has been claimed that about Rs. 300 million was embezzled by the police officers. Accused follicle officers are former IGP Om Bikram Rana, Hem Bahadur Gurung and Ramesh Chand Thakuri.
