USA: Former Tallassee Asst. Police Chief arrested

A former Tallassee assistant police chief is under arrest and charged with 40 counts of felony ethics and LETS violations, according to the Alabama Attorney General's office.

Amy Robertson Davis, 39, of Wetumpka surrendered to authorities Wednesday at the Elmore County Sheriff's Office. She's since been released on bond.

An Elmore County Grand Jury indicted Davis on April 13, and she was charged with 15 counts of intentionally misusing her public position for personal gain. Another 25 counts of willfully using the Alabama Law Enforcement Tactical System (LETS) were added to the charges.

Davis could face two to 20 years in prison for each of the 15 counts of ethics law violations [class B felonies], and up to five years imprisonment for each of the 25 counts of misuse of LETS information [unclassified felonies].

A trial date has not yet been announced.
