Trial date set for Greece cop

A Greece police officer charged with coercing a woman to have sex with him was in court this morning.

The bribe allegedly occurred after Officer Gary Pignato responded to a 911 call for domestic violence. The victim, who was already on probation, told investigators that she was coerced into making a deal with Pignato in order to avoid facing criminal charges.

In court today, the prosecutor filed legal papers that indicate that there may be more to the story and Pignato could be in even more trouble but the assistant district attorney wouldn't comment any further.

Pignato is suspended without pay. His trial will start on June 1.
