Victorian cop remanded in cust

A Victorian police officer has appeared in court on child sex charges.

Leading Senior Constable Greg Collier has been charged with sexual penetration of a child, committing an indecent act in the presence of a child and perjury.

The prosecution is a joint operation between the Office of Police Integrity (OPI) and the police Ethical Standards Division.

Collier, 45, has been a police officer in East Gippsland for 18 years.

One of the alleged offences dates back to 1992.

Collier was first arrested in November last year on the child sex charges.

He broke his bail conditions and was extradited from Queensland last month and into police custody.

Collier did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to appear in court in April.
