Austin PD officer being invest
An Austin police officer is on paid administrative leave after being accused of sexual misconduct.
He's accused of being involved with a prostitute.
Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said the department is conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
"A lot of folks are wondering if these kinds of allegations are troublesome for us," Acevedo said. "It concerns us. But today we have 2,200 employees and human nature being the way it is, you know we're going to have people make some bad judgment calls. If it turns out that he did, we'll hold him accountable."
Acevedo said that if the police officer is found to have been engaged in the sexual misconduct, the punishment could range anywhere from administrative to criminal charges.
