Another SA Police Officer Arre
He's a police officer accused of sexually assaulting a woman in custody while he was in uniform and early this morning he turned himself in. Two others officers were arrested Thursday.
We're told Officer Raymond Ramos walked into the central police station and told officers, “I'm the one you are looking for.” They arrested him right there on the scene.
Ramos, 28, was searched by officers at the substation and taken into custody. From there, he went before a judge where he faces three charges: official oppression, violation of civil rights and sexual assault.
Ramos - along with Victor Gonzales and Michael Munoz – work out of the south side police substation.
The investigation all started last month when a 28-year-old woman reported that Officer Raymond Ramos raped her in a secluded area. That investigation led them to another case involving an 18-year-old woman and the two other officers.
The teen says officer Victor Gonzales took her to Riverside Golf Course back in June. She told police that Gonzales forced her to perform sex acts for money while Officer Michael Munoz groped her.
“Using that power of the uniform, the position, to force people into these kinds of situations is absolutely not to be tolerated, nor will it be tolerated,” District Attorney Susan Reed told News 4 Thursday.
A GPS tracking system on their patrol cars along with one of the officer's cell phone records linked the officers to the park.
"It leaves me wondering... It leaves me scratching my head as to what the heck these officers were thinking at this time," said San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus.
The woman says Officer Gonzalez had her perform sex acts on him and another friend who showed up later offering her money.
"I can not believe how dumb, dumb behavior, criminal, but just dumb to do this to someone in custody," said Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed.
Officer Gonzalez is now out of jail after posting bond. He's been charged with official oppression, promotion of prostitution, and sexual assault. News 4's Demond Fernandez stopped by Officer Gonzalez's house to try to get his side of the story, but no one would answer the door.
News 4 also visited the home of Officer Munoz, who also posted bond and was released from jail. He's been charged with official oppression. A woman inside his house told News 4 they didn't want to comment.
District Attorney Reed said she hopes all three cases will go before the grand jury by the first of the year.
