India: Cops do it again!

A 26-year-old youth was allegedly slapped by two city policemen today for waiting beside an exit gate at Eden Gardens after the fourth day's play between India and Pakistan got over. The youth was waiting for the crowd to disperse so that he could come out of the stadium without much hassle when trouble started.
The youth, Sheikh Ziauddin, a resident of Bhu Kailash Road near Ekbalpur, said: “I went to the stadium to watch the India-Pakistan Test Match. I came out of the gallery and stood at the side of Gate Number 16 waiting for the crowd to pass through.
“Two city policemen ~ Mr Chanchal Roy and Mr Mr AK Kundu ~ asked me to explain why I'm standing near the gate. Mr Kundu slapped me before I could explain the reason. Mr Roy hurled abusive comments when I told them that I would report Mr Kundu's misconduct to senior police officers.”
Three days back, a city police constable was accused of dishonouring the Indian national flag in front of hundreds of people near the Gate Number 2 of the Eden Gardens.
After the matter was reported to the city police commissioner, Mr Goutam Mohan Chakraborty, an enquiry into the policemen's alleged misconduct was ordered.
A senior city police officer said that the special additional commissioner, Mr Sudhir Mishra, has been asked to conduct the probe.
