Western Australia's Police Commissioner, Karl O'Callaghan, has referred allegations of police misconduct to the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC).

Nigeria: 2 Police Officers Det

Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested and detained two policemen attached to the Maitama police station, Abuja for allegedly demanding and collecting N50,000 bribe from a suspect.

The suspects, Inspector Samuel Onoja and Sergeant Bayo Babalola, were arrested during an operation by the commission in Abuja, following a petition to ICPC by Mr. Olarenwaju, the physically challenged suspect.


The victim explained that the police officers had demanded N20,000 and N30,000 respectively to save him from going to jail by charging a civil case against him in court.

Leadership Crime gathered that the two policemen are currently in detention at the commission's cell, while plans are being made to arraign them in court.
