Veteran of Windsor police forc

WINDSOR, Ont. - A 15-year veteran of the Windsor police force has been suspended and is facing charges over alleged misconduct.

Const. Michael Shannon, 39, was arrested Thursday night during a traffic stop and is charged with theft and breach of trust by a public officer. Shannon, who will still be paid during the suspension, will appear in court Nov. 15.

Supt. Dave Pickford says a member of the public complained about the officer, leading to an investigation.

Police say Shannon was taken into custody after being pulled over in downtown Windsor.

A quantity of money was recovered during the arrest.
