Police intend protest march
QUEENSLAND police have vowed to march on State Parliament to protest against the Government's 'unfair' treatment of an officer charged over the Palm Island death in custody case.
Queensland Police Union (QPU) vice-president Denis Fitzpatrick yesterday told a gathering of more than 650 officers on the Gold Coast that industrial action to support Senior Sergeant Chris Hurley had not been ruled out.
Another meeting will be held in Townsville today to give North Queensland officers the chance to add their voice to the protest.

Scotland Yard Announce Beginni
The trial of six men charged in connection with one of the most extensive investigations carried out by the Met's Anti-Corruption Team will begin at Southwark CC on 3/9/07.
The defendants are:
[A] Jeremy Howard YOUNG (7.5.67 - 40 ys), a former MPS PC, of Ilford, Essex, is charged with aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office.
[B] Scott GELSTHORPE (18.9.74 - 32 ys), a former MPS officer, of Kettering, Northants, is charged with aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office.
[C] Gordon BUCHER (21.10.53 - 53 ys), a private investigator, of Hereford is charged with aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office.
[D] John Michael MATTHEWS (12.9.47 - 59 ys) a former Detective Sgt with Staffordshire Police, is charged with misconduct in a public office.
[E] Gary FLANAGAN (20.4.64 - 43 ys) a private investigator and ex-Detective Constable with Saffordshire Police, of Hereford Avenue, Clayton, Newcastle-under-Lyme is charged with aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office.
[F] Anthony WOOD (12.10.42 - 64 ys), a private investigator and an ex-Detective Sgt with Staffordshire Police, of Aldershaw Close, Parkside, Stafford is charged with aiding and abetting misconduct in a public office.
