An investigation has begun into a 'very serious' case of corruption within the national detective squad, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.


The paper says last week's arrest of ex detective Martin de B. has uncovered a web of corruption, including the leaking of extremely sensitive information to underworld figures in return for cash.

Punjab police HC arrested for

A Head Constable Sahib Singh alias Sahibi was on Sunday arrested by the local police for allegedly taking bribe.

Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Nilabh Kishore informed this correspondent that police received a complaint that Sahibi, posted at Sirhind police station had taken bribe of Rs 1,500. He said that after receiving the complaint, an inquiry was conducted . He said Sahibi was found guilty and after registering a case against him under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, he was arrested.
