Wagga policeman to face bashin

A police officer from Wagga, in southern NSW, charged over the alleged bashing of a man during an arrest four years ago is due to face a court hearing later this year.

Constable Chris Jackson and another Wagga police officer were the subject of a Police Integrity Commission investigation into the arrest of Alan Hathaway in Wagga, in southern New South Wales, in 2003.

More than a year after the investigation, Jackson was charged with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Jackson has pleaded not guilty to the charges and today a two-week hearing was set for November in Wagga Local Court.
