Panel faults police misconduct
The Boston Police Department's handling of police misconduct allegations shows signs of slipshod investigations and unfair treatment of complaining witnesses, according to a report to be released today by an independent panel.
Of 19 individual cases of alleged officer misconduct that the department's civilian review board scoured, it recommended that five, or about 26 percent, should be reinvestigated because they either were not thoroughly looked into or because the citizens who lodged the complaints were treated unfairly.

PSI held for seeking bribe of
A Police sub inspector with Jamnagar police has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly demanding bribe.
The arrest was made following a complaint filed by a transport company owner.
According to details on Tuesday, Jamnagar ACB arrested Gulabnagar chowky PSI Nilesh Parmar for demanding bribe of Rs 10,000 from a transport company per month to get clearance from Gulabnagar highway toward the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway.
Kirit Bhadra, a transport company owner, had registered a complaint with ACB that Parmar had been demanding Rs 15,000 per month to allow the trucks to cross Gulabnagar highway.
