EU Commissioner praises Bulgar

SOFIA (bnn)- Franco Frattini, EU Commissioner for justice, freedom and security met with Bulgarian Internal Minister Rumen Petkov on Monday, news agencies reported citing the Interior Ministry’s press office.

Frattini expressed his high opinion of the Bulgarian police latest work in the area of corruption, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) announced. In his words Bulgaria moves into the right direction and this will be objectively written in the EC autumn report. Migration issues and drugs traffic results were among the themes reported as the foreign ministry representatives gave details about the recent raids. Petkov also gave to Frattini information about the special anti-corruption units that are to be created in the prosecution. There has also been a growth in the number of the customs officers as the agreement in May said, news agencies added.
Frattini thanked for the thorough information that he regularly receives and defined it as a positive fact, BNR added.
