Character Counts! in villages'
The Oswego and Montgomery Police Departments have announced the Character Counts! awards program for the residents of the two villages, in conjunction with the Josephson Institute of Ethics' national program of the same name.
Members of the community are invited to nominate an Oswego or Montgomery resident who exemplifies one of the "Six Pillars of Character" (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship) in one of three categories: youth, teen and adult.
Nomination forms are available at the Oswego Village Hall, Oswego Police Department, District 308 schools, Oswego Public Library, Oswegoland Park District facilities, Montgomery Village Hall, Montgomery Police Department, Lakewood Creek Schools and both police department Web sites. Completed forms may be returned to any one of those locations.
A committee will review the nominations and choose the winners. Winners will be selected in June for the spring quarter, in September for the summer quarter, in December for the fall quarter, and in March for the winter quarter.
