The number of participants taking part in the February 2009 ethics poll on EthicsinPolicing.com was not sufficient to have full statistical relevance however the poll did give the following indication:
The question asked in February 2009 was:
"If a police officer was given a memento from a member of the public or group should the officer report it to a Supervisor?"
71% of participants felt that an officer should report the fact to their supervisor if they had been given a memento and 39% felt they should not.
