LA police officer arrested in

A Los Angeles police officer has been arrested near Austin, Texas, for allegedly forcing himself on a motel employee.

Officer Silvio Filipovich, a 21-year department veteran, is accused of pushing a Mountain Star Lodge female employee into a closet and trying to fondle her while she was retrieving a crib for his child.

Travis County sheriff's spokesman Roger Wade said Monday that Filipovich was booked Friday on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and released after posting $20,000 bail.

Records obtained by the Los Angeles Times show that the officer has a history of misconduct allegations, including improperly exposing himself in public. The records show that department officials had recommended discipline of more than 100 days for the alleged offenses.

The Police Department would not say if Filipovich was disciplined.
