Reprimanded Police Sgt. Teachi
A former Phoenix police sergeant who was reprimanded for showing porn to a female co-worker is now taking heat from Minneapolis police officers, authorities said.

Former Sgt. Ron Snodgrass now teaches required law enforcement classes to officers in the Twin Cities.

One of the classes the former sergeant is scheduled to teach deals with ethics.

"Snodgrass brings no credibility to what he is here to teach," said Minneapolis Police Federation Director Bob Kroll.

Kroll continued, "Snodgrass is a guy we wouldn't hire as a recruit because of his background."

Nigeria: Albishir Says Police

Senator Usman Albishir says the police acted contrary to professional ethics and conduct and against the rules and regulations regarding arrest by declaring him wanted in several media outfits in the country.

Speaking through his counsel, Barrister Isaac Ndayamma Ambule, at a press conference in Abuja, Albishir said the police declared him wanted at a time he was busy in court challenging his substitution as the governorship candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) with the late governor Mamman Ali of Yobe state.

He said he took all necessary legal steps to enforce his fundamental rights when the late governor accused him of character assassination and subsequently dragged him to court.

Ambule told journalists that a Yobe State High Court, had on February 2, 2009, struck out a suit filed by the state Police Commissioner against Albishir and one Stephen Gbenga Oni, accused of character assassination against the late Governor Ali. Albishir was alleged to have said publicly that Mamman Ali, the then Governor of Yobe state, was after his life and the police got wind of that and had since made efforts to arrest him while he travelled out of the country.

The striking out of the suit followed an application before the court by the police on January 19, 2009, seeking the withdrawal of the First Information Report (FIR) it filled before a Chief Magistrate court, Damaturu, "since continuing the motion on notice before the court will amount to an academic exercise, I urge the court to consider the FIR as withdrawn".

The application for the withdrawal was not objected to by the counsel representing Albishir and the presiding judge, Justice Ali Garba, granted the application, saying that: "Since the learned Solicitor General has indicated that the FIR has been withdrawn and urged the court to hold that the motion is overtaken by events, the FIR filed before the Chief Magistrate court, Damaturu, is hereby considered withdrawn and since it is based on this motion, the whole issue is therefore overtaken by events. The prayer to withdraw this motion is accordingly granted. Motion is hereby struck out as prayed".
