Cop off the beat

A Gatineau police officer was suspended for two days by the police ethics committee for accessing private information regarding her ex’s new flame. A decision released last Friday states Tanya Jordan didn’t respect the law when she used her position to access the woman’s criminal record and other personal information using her licence plate number on June 4, 2005. Since the officer had made no previous ethical mistakes and was using the information for personal use only, a decision was made to suspend her for just two days.
